He said these things to reporters at his office in the Agargaon election building on Sunday.
In response to a question, Alamgir said that usually the schedule has to be announced for 42 to 45 days. The schedule will be announced in November for a minimum period of 45 days. Exactly which week has not been discussed yet?
He also said that, according to the constitution, we see that everything is right. The EC is mandated by the constitution to hold elections within 90 days before the current parliament expires. Accordingly, we are completing all the activities by counting the time. Now all that is left is to announce the schedule and hold the election.
Alamgir said everyone wants elections. All of the 44 registered political parties we have are pro-election.
When asked whether BNP wants elections, he said, Everyone wants elections.
Regarding the demand for a neutral government in the BNP, Alamgir said that is a political issue. How they solve it is up to them. We have nothing to do with it. There is no way to go beyond our constitution.
