Md. Ayub Miyaji, Chandnaish: The Executive Magistrate of Mobile Court has fined two auto rice mill businessmen for running Mobile Court in Dohazari Bazaar of Chandnaish Upazila. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Diplomacy Chakma conducted the operation on Wednesday (October 11) afternoon.
According to mobile court sources, the mobile court has been conducted according to the various sections of the Mandatory Use of Jute Wrap in Products Act, 2010. According to Section 14, two companies named M/s Haque Auto Rice Mill and M/s Amir Chaul Bitan were fined Tk 20,000 in total and Tk 40,000 for using artificial packaging in the product.
Executive Magistrate Diplomacy Chakma said jute wrapping on products will be made mandatory. The campaign will continue in various markets of the upazila to prevent the use of artificial packaging to protect the environment.
At this time, Babul Chandra Das, Chittagong Jute Development Assistant of the Jute Department, a team from Dohazari Police Outpost, and the officials and employees of the Upazila Land Office assisted in the operation of the mobile court.
