Dhaka Bureau: Center for Research and Information (CRI) Chairperson and Prime Minister’s Information and Technology Advisor Sajib Wazed Joy said, “If you have confidence and patriotism in yourself, you can do anything for the people of your country.” If there is no spirit of patriotism and freedom, then how can I ask for the good of the country?’
He said these things at the ‘Joy Bangla Youth Award 2022’ ceremony at the Sheikh Hasina Youth Development Institute in Savar on Saturday (November 12) afternoon.
Addressing the medal winners and nominees, Sajib Wazed Joy said, ‘I believe you will transform Bangladesh from a middle-income country to a developing country. And it will happen within our lifetime. We will solve our own problems with our own hard work and talent.
Joy Bangla Youth Award ceremony started for the sixth time with national anthem at 3 pm. A documentary about the activities of Young Bengal was shown at the beginning. About 600 organizations applied for this year’s award. Out of them 28 were selected for the final round. 10 organizations were awarded in 5 categories. Besides, two people were given lifetime honors.
Minister of State for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources and Trustee of CRI Nasrul Hamid Bipu delivered the welcome address on the occasion. He said, ‘Six years have passed. Today the membership of Young Bangla is about three and a half lakh.
Addressing the youth, he said, “They have done a lot with their own efforts from far away.” Eminent personalities of the society were present on the jury board. Thank you all.
It is to be noted that the ‘Joy Bangla Youth Award’ was given to the youth who came forward in the formation of the country in the last 8 years. The award was given as part of the regular activities of Young Bangla, an organ of CRI. The medal will be given to the top 10 youth organizations after scrutinizing more than 600 youth organizations that applied from all over the country.
