Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: More than three hundred tourists were stuck in Saint Martin due to the closure of ships due to the deep low pressure created in the Bay of Bengal.

However, the tourists will leave for Teknaf on Saturday (October 7) afternoon due to favorable weather conditions.

The Teknaf Upazila administration stopped the movement of tourist ships on the Teknaf-Saint Martin sea route to avoid any risk due to inclement weather. As a result, tourists are stuck in Saint Martin.

The Upazila administration said that they will return on the return trip of the ship on Saturday (October 7).

Teknaf Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Adnan Chowdhury confirmed this to the media.

On October 3, due to rough seas and local warning signal No. 3, trawlers and ships were plying on the Teknaf-Saint Martin route. Considering the safety of tourists, the Teknaf Upazila administration stopped the shipping on the Teknaf-Saint Martin route.

A ship plying on that route was stopped during the current tourist season.

UNO also said that normal weather conditions have been prevailing in Teknaf since Saturday midnight. Due to the normal speed of the wind and the sea not being rough, the movement of tourist ships has been allowed on the Teknaf-Saint Martin route.
