Poet Asad Chowdhury is no more

The Crime Desk: Poet Asad Chowdhury died while undergoing treatment in Canada (Innalillahi wa Inna Ilahi Rajiun). He was 80 years old.

He died on Thursday, October 5, at a local hospital in Toronto, Canada. His son-in-law, Nadeem Iqbal, confirmed the matter.

In 1983, a particularly remarkable book entitled ‘Bangladesh Liberation War’ written by poet Asad Chowdhury was published. Apart from this, in the same year he edited the book ‘Sangrami Nayak Bangabandhu’ based on Bangabandhu’s biography.

Poet Asad Chowdhury was born on February 11, 1943, in Ulania, Mehendiganj Upazila, Barisal.

His mother’s name is Syeda Mahmuda Begum. Kabir’s father’s name is Mohammad Arif Chowdhury, alias Dhanu Mia.
