Anwara Representative: Chittagong’s Anwara. Police arrested a young man named Samrat (21) along with Yaba. He was arrested on Sunday afternoon in the roadhead area of Bairag Union of the upazila. He was arrested five times this year.
Samrat Upazila, Barkhain Union, Sholkata village Son of Elijah. He was sent to court on Monday afternoon with a case under the Narcotics Act.
According to police sources, Samrat is involved in various crimes, including extortion, drugs, land grabbing, and robbery in the upazila. There are also five cases against him. He went to jail seven times so far but got involved in crime after being released. He was arrested five times this year. On Sunday afternoon, police arrested him in the Bairag Rasta Matha area after getting a tip-off. Meanwhile, 150 pitch yabas were seized from him. The estimated value of this is 45 thousand rupees.
Anwara police station OC Sohail Ahmed said Samrat used to claim himself as the king of the crime world in the area. He also has a teenage gang group with teenagers. He was arrested five times for various crimes this year. But every time he gets out on bail, he starts committing crimes again. He was finally caught stealing last August and released on bail in September. Then again, on Sunday, he was caught with drugs. Police arrested him along with Yaba on Sunday. A new case against him has been sent to the court under the Narcotics Act.
