The Prime Minister invites the UK to invest more

The Crime Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has invited the United Kingdom to invest more in Bangladesh, considering mutual benefits.

British Foreign and Commonwealth Development Minister Lord Tariq Ahmed met with the Prime Minister at a hotel in London on Monday (October 2) morning local time. At this time, he invited the United Kingdom.

In this regard, it was informed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that Lord Tariq recalled the fruitful meeting of the Prime Minister with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, on May 5. He also referred to the fruitful strategic dialogue between Bangladesh and the UK held in Dhaka recently.

Lord Tariq praised the Prime Minister’s leadership for bringing about massive changes in education in Bangladesh, especially girls’ education. He highlighted the importance of strong trade and investment relations between the two countries, including the aviation partnership. The Prime Minister thanked Lord for his support in increasing trade and investment between Bangladesh and the UK and for Bangladesh’s concern over the Rohingya crisis at the United Nations and the Commonwealth.

Both the Prime Minister and Lord expressed the view that continued democracy and stability in Bangladesh will contribute to the prosperity of the region. At this time, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, AK Abdul Momen, Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office, Mohammad Salahuddin, and High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the UK, Syeda Muna Tasnim, were present.
