Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s address to Dr. Gonoshasthaya. Zafrullah Chowdhury said that he talks with the opposition parties for the good governance of the country. Good governance will be established in the country. Otherwise you will be in bigger trouble. You will not only get into trouble, you will also put the country in trouble. We wish you well. But you also have to look out for yourself. You don’t understand yourself well.
He said these things in a rally organized by the Bhasani Followers Parishad in front of the National Press Club on Saturday (12 November) to demand the declaration of a public holiday on the occasion of the death anniversary of the national oppressed leader Maulana Bhasani on 17 November. At this time Dr. Zafrullah also demanded to declare Maulana Bhasani’s death anniversary as a national day.
Freedom fighter Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, convener of Bhasani Anusari Parishad, presided over the rally. Chairman of Jatiya Party Mustafa Jamal Haider, President of Nagrik Oikya Mahmudur Rahman Manna, General Secretary of Revolutionary Workers Party Saiful Haque, Chief Coordinator of Mass Solidarity Movement Jonaid Saki and others also spoke at the meeting.
Dr. Zafrullah said, Prime Minister, you are gradually moving in the wrong direction. Get out of that wrong way. You don’t do what you say. You said, don’t disrupt the opposition party’s rally. But stopping the bus in their assembly. Arresting leaders and activists, filing cases. Avoid these.
Urging the prime minister to go for dialogue instead of conflict, Zafrullah said, “You have no freedom without dialogue.” The people of this country have no freedom. Dialogue will lead the country to good governance. Sit with the opposition parties. Only then will you be freed. If not, you must run away.
He said that it takes 32 percent of the income of common people to buy rice. Then you can understand what our situation is. But Prime Minister, you don’t see day to day. India is killing one Bangladeshi every week on the border. You don’t see this tyranny of India. Your foreign policy has failed miserably. You can’t bring Teesta water, it has gone further to Delhi.
