Own Correspondent: Lohagara Thana police arrested 10 accused on the same night, including 1 sentenced for 3 years. These accused were arrested on the night of October 1 last Sunday after conducting raids in different neighborhoods of Lohagara Upazila in South Chittagong.
Among the arrested defendants, five warranted defendants, including one, have been sentenced. The other 5 defendants are defendants in various regular cases, according to Lohagara police station officer-in-charge Md. Rashedul Islam.
The warranted accused are Ahmed Chafa alias Lalu, son of deceased Hakim Ali of North Padua area of Lohagara upazila, who was sentenced to 3 years in 1 case of Satkania police station; Md Kaichar, son of deceased Moktar Ahmad Master of Padua Lalarkhil area, accused in 4 cases of Lohagara police station; Shah Alam, son of Jamal Mia of Hanifarchar of Padua Dhalibila area; Md. Junaid, son of Shah Afzal of Sufinagar area of Chunti; and Abdul Monaf, son of deceased Ismail of Ward No. 5, Amirabad, Lohagara Upazila, accused in the other 1st case of Satkania police station.
10 people, including the 5 accused with warrants, were handed over to the Chittagong district magistrate’s court on Monday morning, October 2.
