Lakshmipur. Correspondent: A woman named Fatema Begum (35) was caught in the rape of Sramik League leader Saif Uddin (37) in Laxmipur’s Ramgati. The police arrested the woman. Preparations are underway to hand over the woman to the court in the case of misleading and deceiving the police.
Ramgati police station OC Mohammad Saifuddin Anwar confirmed the matter around 11:30 on Saturday. According to the police, a woman named Fatema appeared at the Ramgati police station and filed a written complaint against Saifuddin, the general secretary of the Charbadam Union Sramik League of the upazila. In the complaint, it is mentioned that Saifuddin killed the woman.
The police arrested Saifuddin and brought him to the police station. After being brought to the police station, the woman was asked in the presence of some people: “Is the person against whom you complained here?”The woman replied no. Then the whole matter became suspicious for the police. At one stage, the police reviewed and found that the incident of rape of the woman was completely arranged. Saifuddin said false allegations were made against me.
When the police interrogated the woman, her evidence came out. Later, I came home from the police station. I am in the area now. Saifuddin Anwar, OC of Ramgati police station, said that the complainant, Fatema, is a resident of Faridganj upazila in Chandpur district. He is now in police custody.
He will be produced in Lakshmipur court in the case of cheating and misleading the police. Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Hasan Mostafa Swapan said that legal action will be taken against the woman for misleading the police and falsely accusing a person. He urged the police to be vigilant against such incidents in the future.
