Dhaka Bureau: Law enforcement forces have found a new militant organization named Tawhidul Uluhiyah (Al-Jihadi) in the country. The organization had planned a major attack on the country in 2024.
The organization has been conducting its activities for 2–3 months. Such information has emerged after the arrest of three people, including the top leader of the organization, Jewel Mollas. Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) DIG (Operations) at Baridhara in the capital on Saturday (September 16) at noon. Alim Mahmud gave this information in a press conference.
The arrested are Jewel Mollas, Rahul Hossain, and Gaziul Islam, the top leaders of the militant organization. DIG Md. Alim Mahmud said that Jewel was arrested from Bagerhat, Rahul from Jaipurhat, and Gaziul Islam from the Vasantek area of the capital by conducting an operation on September 13. Jewell is the head of this organization among those arrested. The other two are top-level leaders.
The organization started its activities for 2–3 months. Their plan was to launch a major terrorist attack on the country in 2024.
