Chandnaish Correspondent: Four members of the same family, including a journalist, were injured in an attack by opponents in Chandnaish. This incident took place on the morning of September 13 (Wednesday) due to a land dispute. In this regard, injured journalist Arfat Hossain filed a complaint at Chandanish police station, mentioning the names of five people.
According to the complaint, for a long time, the heirs of the deceased Kanchan Mia were trying to forcibly occupy the Murshi property of journalist Arfat Hossain and make a road for traffic. If a complaint is filed with the Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Assistant Commissioner (Land) in this regard, the land office surveyor will measure the area and mark the boundary. Later, he planted various vegetable seedlings, including native fruit seedlings, in that place.
But around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13, under the leadership of deceased Kanchan Mia’s sons Mahamdur Rahman (44) and Mahfuzur Rahman (41), they cut and destroyed the native fruit and vegetable seedlings planted in that place with native weapons. At that time, journalist Arfat Hossain’s father, Khair Ahmad (61), came forward to stop them and seriously injured him. Meanwhile, Arfat Hossain (27), mother Josna Akhtar (45), and sister Halima Akhtar (18) came forward to save their father, and they were also severely beaten.
It is also mentioned in the complaint that he tried to molest her sister, Halima Akhtar, by stripping her naked. Hearing their screams, the locals came forward and rescued them. Later, they were admitted to the Chandanish Health Complex and got treatment. In this regard, Arfat Hossain filed a complaint against 4/5 unknown persons in Chandnaish police station, mentioning the names of 5 persons as plaintiffs.
