Own Correspondent: The upazila mobile court has ordered 1 year’s imprisonment without labor for a scoundrel named Raja Mia (24) in Lohagara, South Chittagong. He was ordered to do this on the charge of indecent behavior with a class 10 student on his way to school on Thursday morning, September 7.
Lohagara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sharif Ulyah managed the mobile court. Bakhat Raja Mia is a rickshaw puller by profession and is said to be the son of Badsha Mia of Shilkhali, an area of Pekua Upazila in Cox’s Bazar. According to sources, the girl was molested by the scoundrel Raja Mia on her way to Golambari Government High School at 9:30 a.m. The student ran away to save herself from the bully. At that time, the local people stopped the scoundrel and handed him over to the traveling court.
The incident took place in the Palpara area of Ward No. 3 of Amirabad Union. As the truth of the incident was proved beyond reasonable doubt by Raja Mia’s confession and testimony, the trial court passed this sentence. Later, he was handed over to the Lohagara police station to be sent to jail.
