Own reporter: When will you call a nation and state civilized? Only in that state can women and children live safely. Today in our country no one is safe from a 3 year old child to a 60 year old woman. We live in a smelly society. This society is now rotten and rotten. Or what about the rape of a 7-year-old child? The mother of the child, the mother of the mother, no one is saved today. This goes on and on. Violence against women is done by everyone today. Police SP, OC, politicians, upper class, middle class are all involved in this violence. ‘Communist Pati of Bangladesh (CPB) Chittagong is demanding the maximum punishment of hanging for Lakshan Das, who was arrested for the rape and murder of child Marjana Haque Barshar in Jamal Khan at Cheragi Pahar junction of the city on Friday (November 11) afternoon. Ashok Saha, Chittagong district president of the Communist Party of Bangladesh, said these things in a protest rally organized by the women’s cell branch.
He said, ‘Rape incidents are increasing at an alarming rate in Bangladesh. Women and children are not safe anywhere in the remote villages and regions of the country including Chittagong. Rape incidents are happening one after another. Such incidents are increasing day by day as criminals are getting away with crimes. Lack of accountability along with a culture of impunity is also a major factor. That is why we did not make the country independent We have to be vocal. Our country has become a poor country today. Bad everywhere. As long as there is no strong struggle against these evildoers and they are not eliminated, these murders, rapes and corruption will increase.
Sheela Dasgupta, general secretary of Udichi Chittagong, said that you will not find any place in Bangladesh where women or children are not tortured. All over the country, women and children are being raped and subjected to violence. Girls are being raped by teachers in schools, students are being raped by teachers in madrasas. Why this is increasing today is a big question? Earlier, this Cheragi square of ours, Jamalkhan was a hangout for cultured people. He was the coming and going of the virtuous. But now it has become a terrorist’s hangout. Every day in Cheragi, the terrorists are drunk in drug hangouts and fights. If so, where do we stand? We are constantly laughing. But no one protests. No one will have the courage to do these injustices if they protest. We have to hit the road. Must protest. Prevention against rape should be developed. The rapists should not only be caught, but the maximum sentence of death should be implemented quickly.
Saleha Akhtar Ruby, the elder sister of Marzana Haque Barsha, demanded the execution of her sister’s killer and said, “I want the quick execution of the person who killed my sister.” Today our whole family is mentally broken. I can’t imagine that my sister is no longer with us. We could not see his body. He who has the condition we have today has no right to live in this world. We will protest till he is not executed.
In the president’s speech, the convenor of CPB, women’s cell Chittagong, Rekha Chowdhury said, what kind of depraved mentality can rape and brutally strangle a 7-year-old child? This brutality cannot be accepted in any way. Recently, rape and murder of women and children have increased alarmingly in various areas of the country including Chittagong. Parents are spending days worrying about their innocent children. Over one and a half lakh cases of rape and violence against women are pending for trial across the country. The trial of these cases is going on loosely. Only 3.66 percent of cases are settled annually. And only 4 defendants in a thousand are getting punishment. It is not possible to stop the rape and murder of children unless exemplary punishment is ensured for such depraved psychopaths.
