Satkania Representative: A check of Tk 25,000 has been given to each family of 10 people who died in the recent heavy rains and floods in Satkania, Chittagong. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Milton Biswas distributed the checks to the legal guardians of the victims on Tuesday morning.
Present at this time is the upazila project implementation officer. Kamrul Hossain. According to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s office, 10 people, including children, have been killed in recent heavy rains and floods in different parts of the upazila due to boat capsizing and floods.
The deceased are from Satkania Municipality No. 1 Ward. Md. Shakib, Ward No. 4 Badiul Alam, Ward No. 9 Md. Idris, Jannatul Ferdous of Ward No. 7 of Charti Union of Upazila, Abdur Rahim of the same ward, Shahidul Islam of the same Union, Sobha Prak of Nolua Union, and Md. of Ward No. 9 of Sonakania Union Helal, Sanjida Akhtar of Ward No. 1 of Kanchana Union, and Md. Idris Saudagar of the Maulvir Shop area of Kaliaish Union.
UNO Milton Biswas said that a check of Tk 25,000 has been given to the family of the deceased from the disaster management branch of the district administration office for the burial of those who drowned in the flood water. They can withdraw the money from Sonali Bank at their convenience.
