Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said in a press conference about her recent visit to South Africa, “I am catching up with the Commerce Minister. He said, Who said that the syndicate could not be given hands? Then the journalist said that the two ministers directly said that there is danger if you put your hands there. He said this in response to a journalist’s question about the price of daily commodities at Ganobhaban on Tuesday around 4 p.m. When asked about BRICS, he said Bangladesh was not worried about getting BRICS membership.
He said that because of this, I did not even try to become a member. I can’t get it if I want; that’s not the case anymore. But every job has a method. There is a rule. We accept it. He said, “When I met the president of South Africa, he told me to hold the BRICS conference. At that time, he said that they would increase some members. He asked for our opinion. I said it would be great. I have had good relations with the heads of government of these five countries since BRICS was established. When we heard about the development bank, we became more interested in it. We wanted to join them. We have been interested in it ever since it was made,” he said.
He said about Dr. Yunus, “If the gentleman had so much confidence, I would not have committed any crime. Then he would not be begging for statements at the international level. Our judiciary is completely independent. Besides, everything we do is according to the law. If no one pays tax. And if the case is filed by the workers, And there is a case in the labor court; do we have the hand to close the case? The Prime Minister said this case is ongoing (sub judis). In our country, we don’t even discuss ongoing cases. Because it is subjudice. Where it is considered sub judice in its own country, it is asked to withdraw the case brought from outside. Who am I to withdraw the case? What rights do I have? Do I have that ability? The judiciary is independent. We cannot interfere.
Sheikh Hasina said, Those who have asked to suspend his (Dr. Muhammad Yunus) trial by making a statement, send lawyers instead of making a statement; let the experts see; you will get a lot. The judiciary in our country is completely independent. Everything goes according to the law. Bangabandhukanya said that they are looking for corruption; they have asked to campaign against corruption, but when the corrupt people are their favorite people, they are talking about them again. Why? The law will run at its own pace. He said, Send experienced people for their clients without making statements.
Let them look at the papers. What is it really? We did not file a case. filed an income tax evasion case with NBR. Aggrieved laborers filed suit. Last Sunday, the Prime Minister returned home from Johannesburg, South Africa, after attending the 15th BRICS Summit.
