Rajshahi Correspondent: After the audio of taking bribe from the accused was leaked in Rajshahi, Md. A police SI named Waresh Ali has been withdrawn.
On Thursday (November 10), the accused policeman was withdrawn from the police station and sent to the police line. Earlier on Wednesday night, an audio clip of taking money from the accused through Bkash went viral on social media Facebook.
According to the accused in the case and Rajpara police sources, due to previous enmity, there was an allegation of assault on Samrat, the son of Selim of ID Baganpara area of Rajpara police station on November 3. In this incident, Samrat filed a case in Rajpara police station mentioning the names of four people as the plaintiff. Ikram’s son Rafi, Rafi’s brother Sadi, local Kacha and Robin were accused in this case.
SI Waresh was assigned to investigate the case. The next day on November 4, SI Waresh called accused Rafi from his own number and said that he will not be arrested. For this, some costs must be paid. Then he took two thousand rupees through Bikash. Later another number took another 3000 rupees. He called the accused from his personal number and told him to make a budget for the OC sir as well. Sir must pay, otherwise there will be problem.
In this regard, SI Waresh Ali said, during the puja, there were four pavilions in Bhatapara area under my responsibility. Meanwhile, I stopped the sale of brewed liquor in that area. They were angry with me. Later we tried to arrest the accused in a case. The accused have edited my voice and made it viral. There is no question of me asking for money.
Rajpara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Siddiqur Rahman said Waresh Ali was on leave at that time. As the audio of him asking for money went viral, he has been put on the police line for now. Police will investigate and take action against him later.
