Dhaka Bureau: Awami League’s ‘special extended meeting’ will be held today Sunday (August 6) at 10:30 am at Ganabhaban, the official residence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will preside over the meeting.
In a press release signed by the office secretary of the party, Biplab Barua, it is said that in a special extended meeting, the National Committee of Awami League, Central Executive Parliament, Advisory Council members, District Metropolitan and Upazila, Thana, Paur (municipality located in the district headquarters) Awami League President-General Secretaries, party members of Jatiya Sangsad, party chairmen of Zilla Parishad and Upazila Parishad, party mayors of city corporations and municipalities and central presidents and general secretaries of allied organizations will be present.
Party sources of Awami League say that an extended meeting of the ruling Awami League’s executive parliament is sitting at the Ganobhaban to ‘strengthen’ the field leaders. In the face of anti-government movement and election by opposition parties including BNP, the party leaders at all levels were called to Dhaka due to the political reality.
The party needs to be more organized now than in the past if it wants to win both on the streets and in the polls. For this, today’s meeting has been called to energize the field leaders and give the election message.
