Discussion meeting on the occasion of National Fisheries Week in Satkania Award distribution completed

Sukanth Bikas Dhar, Satkania: National Fisheries Week-2023 was celebrated today (Tuesday) with the initiative of Satkania Upazila Administration and Upazila Fisheries Department under the motto ‘Safe fish-rich country, build smart Bangladesh’. On this occasion, a discussion meeting and award distribution ceremony were held in the Upazila Parishad Auditorium in the morning.

Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Milton Biswas presided over it. Upazila Fisheries Officer Saikat Sharma spoke at the meeting, among others, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Salauddin Hasan Chowdhury, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Arafat Siddiqui, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Salim Uddin, and heroic freedom fighter Neelratan Dasgupta.

At the end of the meeting, Md. Akkas Mia, Md. for contributing to fisheries. Babul and Md. Ehsanul Karim were awarded. Earlier, a colorful rally led by the UNO and Fisheries Officer circled the upazila complex road. In the President’s speech, UNO Milton Biswas said that the importance of fisheries resources in meeting the food and nutrition needs of the growing population of the country is very high.

The need for conservation of fisheries resources, an increase in production, and proper management of fisheries resources should make people interested in fisheries by using modern technology. That is why unemployed youth can become self-reliant by taking government training and taking loans.
