Brave freedom fighter Nurul Islam: 26 pythons sent from Chittagong Zoo were released in the Chunti Sanctuary of Lohagara Upazila. The pythons were released at noon on Thursday, July 20.
Among pythons, 10 adults and 16 baby snakes are known. According to sources, these pythons, recovered from different places, were in the Chittagong Zoo for some time. After treatment there, the snakes were sent to the Lohagara Upazila Nirbahi Officer through the Chittagong District Commissioner. Later, the pythons were released in Chunati Sanctuary. After being released, the snakes entered the Chunti sanctuary forest at their own pace.
Lohagara Upazila Executive Officer Sharif Ullah, Biodiversity Conservation Officer Noor Jahan, Chittagong Zoo Deputy Curator Shahadat Hossain Shubo, Chunti Sanctuary Range Officer Mahmud Hossain, and other officials and employees of related departments were present during the release of the snakes.
