Dhaka Bureau: The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been slashed. At the consumer level, the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the price of each 12 kg cylinder by 75 taka to 999 taka. Which until now was one thousand 74 taka.
The new rates were announced at a press conference at the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) hall on Monday (July 03). The new fixed prices will be effective from 6 pm.
BERC has fixed the retail price of LPG at Tk 83 21 paise per kg. According to that, the price of cylinders weighing five and a half kg, 12, 15, 16, 18, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 45 kg has decreased.
To maintain consistency with the international market, BERC has been announcing LPG prices every month in coordination with Saudi Aramco company’s propane and butane prices. On April 12, 2021, BERC fixed the price of LPG for the first time in the country.
