Dhaka Bureau: On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, President Md Sahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina extended sincere greetings and Eid Mubarak to all the Muslim communities of the world including Bangladesh.
In his speech, the President said, Qurbani instills in us the mentality of self-giving and self-sacrifice, awakens the spirit of sharing happiness and sorrow with relatves and neighbors and teaches tolerance.
The president also said that pure intentions and legitimate earnings are necessary for the sacrifice to be accepted by Almighty Allah. I hope that everyone will try to stop environmental pollution by performing Qurbani at designated places by the government and removing Qurbani waste. May the holy Eid-ul-Azha bring welfare to all, may the ideal of sacrifice arise in all. May the joy of Eid spread among all.
In his speech, the Prime Minister said, the unique example that Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) has set by devoting his beloved things to the Almighty God will forever be an example to be emulated and followed by the people of the world. Every year, by celebrating this festival, wealthy Muslims distribute the meat of the sacrificed animal among their relatives and the poor and needy, and establish a bond of solidarity and equality among people.
The Prime Minister also said that on the day of Eid-ul-Azhar, I wish to Almighty Allah Rabbul Alamin for the future progress, prosperity and continued peace of the beloved motherland Bangladesh and the Muslim Ummah. May God help us. Amen.
