Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: A young man named Iman Hossain (18) was killed in the firing of two terrorist groups in the Ukhia Rohingya camp of Cox’s Bazar. Another person was injured at this time.
The Rohingyas claim that the terrorist groups Arsa and RSO have caused this incident based on the spread of dominance. The incidents took place at A/14-15 Block of Balukhali Rohingya Camp 8 West in Ukhia around 7:30 a.m. on Monday (June 19).
The deceased Iman Hossain (18), son of Siraj Hossain, resident of Balukhali Rohingya Camp (10 Block, F/14 Block), and the injured youth Mohammad Noor (47) son of Azizur Rahman, resident of F/17 Block of the same camp, According to the sources, on Monday around 7:30 a.m., there was a shooting between Arsa and RSO members in A/14 and 15 blocks of Camp-8 East of Balukhali Rohingya camp in Ukhia.
Both groups exchanged approximately 20–25 rounds of fire. When Iman Hossain and Mohammad Noor were shot and seriously injured in the firing, they were rescued and taken to the IMO Hospital of Camp 9, where Iman Hossain died and Mohammad Noor is undergoing treatment. Sheikh Mohammad Ali, OC of Ukhiyar Police Station, said that in the morning, we received information that a Rohingya was killed in the firing between two terrorist groups in the Rohingya camp. However, it is not yet certain who committed the murder.
However, it was initially assumed that this incident happened due to the spread of dominance in the asylum camp. Police and APBN are working to arrest those involved.
