Dhaka Bureau: China is supporting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s position against US sanctions on the RAB issue. Spokesperson of the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Wenbin, said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has not only spoken about a strong position for the people of Bangladesh. He spoke for a large part of the international community, especially the developing world.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said this at a regular press conference in Beijing on Wednesday (June 14). Later, China’s Global Times newspaper questioned Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s comments on US sanctions against some RAB officials. He said this to China’s official media, the Global Times.
The audio portion of the interview has been published on the Facebook page of the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka. It revealed the comments of Wang Wenbin, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, and the Deputy Director of the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the form of questions and answers.
He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s comments have come to our attention. A country ignoring its own apartheid, gun violence, and drug problems is poking its nose into the internal affairs of many countries, including Bangladesh, under the pretext of democracy and human rights. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has not only explained the strong position of the Bangladeshi people, she has also expressed the attitude of a large section of the international community, especially the developing countries. He also said that we will work with Bangladesh and other countries against all forms of hegemony and power politics. At the same time, we will also work to maintain the international system based on international law centered on the United Nations. He was asked, and recently we have come to know that the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, has said several times that she sees the US ban against RAB as a puzzle. And prohibition is like a game.
He also said that the United States has the power to overthrow the government of any country. Bangladesh is not afraid of sanctions. He directed the Ministry of Finance and Planning to stop buying anything from countries that would impose sanctions against Bangladesh. What is China’s comment on this? In response, Wang Wenbin said that we know about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s recent statement. In fact, a specific country turns a blind eye to its own racial discrimination, gun violence, and drug proliferation. They have been interfering in the internal affairs of Bangladesh and many other developing countries for a long time by talking about democracy and human rights.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has not only spoken about a strong stand for the Bangladeshi people. He spoke for a large part of the international community, especially the developing world. China and Bangladesh are traditional, friendly neighbors. We strongly support Bangladesh’s efforts to uphold its sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, and independent policies in internal and external affairs. Support the pursuit of a development path that fits the national reality. We are ready to work together with Bangladesh and other countries against all forms of domination and power politics. At the same time, we will work to build a UN-centered international system, an international order emphasized by international law, basic rules governing international relations based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, and a common future for mankind.
