Privately elected Abul Khair Abdullah in Barisal

Barisal representative: Awami League candidate Abul Khair Abdullah has been elected mayor privately in the Barisal City Corporation elections. Uncle Abul Khair Abdullah Khokon Serniabat is sitting in the chair of his nephew, Sadiq Abdullah, after winning a large number of votes. Abul Khair Abdullah received 87,752 votes for the boat symbol from 126 centers.

His closest rival is Mufti Syed Md., the candidate of the Islamic Movement Bangladesh. Faizul Karim got 34 thousand 345 votes. Meanwhile, peaceful voting has been going on in Barisal since the morning. Among them were allegations of an attack on the mayoral candidate Mufti Faizul Karim and his supporters after they entered a center on Kaunia Main Road in Barisal City around 10 a.m.

In addition, in Barisal Ward No. 21, Gorasthan Road Madrasa Center, and Latim marker candidate Mu, clashes broke out between supporters of Shahriar Secretary (Rajib) and Tiffin Box Marker candidate Sheikh Saeed Ahmed (Manna). Seven candidates are contesting for the post of mayor in Barisal. Among them, four candidates have been elected by the party. They are Awami League candidate Abul Khair Abdullah (boat), Jatiya Party candidate Md. Iqbal Hossain (plow), and Islamic Movement Bangladesh candidate Mufti Syed.

Faizul Karim (hatpakha) and Zaker Party candidate Mizanur Rahman Bachchu (golapful). Total voters in 30 wards are 2 lakh, 76 thousand, and 298 people. Among them were 1 lakh, 37 thousand, 489 male voters and 1 lakh, 38 thousand, 809 female voters. Voting has been conducted at 126 polling stations.
