Entertainment Desk: Amitabh Reza Chowdhury’s second film Rickshaw Girl won the Film On Kids Award at the 16th International Film Festival in Brussels. The Bangladesh Embassy in Brussels has informed this information.
According to the Bangladesh Embassy in Brussels, the film directed by Amitabh Reza Chowdhury tells the story of Naima, a talented girl from rural Bangladesh. He who hopes, will beautify the city with his Alpana paintings. When her father falls seriously ill, Naima is forced to take on the role of breadwinner for the family. The film explores the world of the rickshaw industry.
The film also tells the story of the power that portrays the daily struggle of a young, ambitious and independent girl and challenges women’s liberation in Bangladesh.
Amitabh Reza Chowdhury said the young generation will be inspired by the film, which conveys the message of never giving up and pursuing one’s dreams and aspirations through hard work. He thanked the organizers for supporting Bangladeshi art and culture.
The film festival was held in Brussels from October 26 to November 5. More than 120 films from various countries including Europe are screened at the festival.
