The resident surgeon at the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute confirmed this. Tariqul Islam said that Rubel died on Saturday (June 10) around one o’clock in the morning. 45 percent of his body was burned. Earlier, two people named Tajul Islam Lyon (22) and Humayun Kabir (54) died.
Last Saturday (June 3), the explosion happened around 1:30 p.m. Later, the burn victims were rescued and brought to the emergency department of the Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.
According to the naval police, the oil tanker, owned by a dog yard in the Ishapura area, was anchored in the Shitalakshya river. A fire broke out in the engine room when its employees were asleep at night. Six workers in the engine room were burned due to the heat and spread of the fire. On receiving the information, the fire service team reached the scene and brought the fire under control.
