Anwara Correspondent: Dacoit Muhammad Ali (49) was arrested again from Hajigaon Deyang Pahar in Anwara. On Wednesday (June 7) afternoon, the Anwara police station conducted a raid and arrested him. Later, the police said at night. Ali raided the hills and recovered two locally made LGs, two cartridges, and a sharp ramada. He is the son of deceased Jalal Ahmad of village Hajigaon of Barkhain Union of Upazila.
According to sources, the robber said Ali is a fugitive accused of a two-year sentence. After being arrested several times, he was released on bail and again indulged in robbery, banditry, and the drug trade. He once had a gang of robbers in the hills. He is also known to have a cache of weapons.
Mirz Mohammad Hasan, the officer in charge of Anwara police station, said that the arrested Md. Ali has a single case of robbery, dacoity, and drug possession. After his arrest, two country-made LGs, two cartridges, and a sharp Ramada were recovered during night raids. A case under the Arms Act was registered against him, and he was sent to court on Thursday.
