Sylhet correspondent: The General Secretary of the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, Advocate Rana Das gupta, said that the situation is not good. Although there is an atmosphere of relief and peace on the surface, there is a danger of creating an unstable situation at any time. Because of which we minorities are concerned. He said minorities do not want to be looted. Minorities will not be anyone’s vote bank.

He said these things in the chief speaker’s speech at the divisional Trinamool representative meeting of the organization in Sylhet on Saturday (June 3). Presidents and general secretaries of four districts and all upazilas of Sylhet division attended the meeting organized to demand the speedy implementation of the 7-point promise of the government party before the 2018 elections. The organization’s joint secretary, Jayant Kumar Deb, outlined the organizational structure of the departmental representative meeting at the beginning of the meeting.

Rana Dasgupta said in the meeting that it was not possible to get out of the communal politics that started in the country after 1975, even in the last 13 years. But we thought that in these 13 years of Awami League government, we would be able to get out of the politics of communalism. But today society, the state, and politics have become more communal than during Pakistan.

He also said that heartwarming words are being spoken. But these words have no chance. Due to the mess of the communal constitution, non-communal state formation or re-establishment of the 1972 constitution is not possible.

Rana Dasgupta said, “No one is giving the slogan of wanting a secular state, not a religious state.

He also said that minorities should be given passage in the next election. Because minorities are angry. I talked to the Prime Minister last April about the various demands of the minorities. He listened to the demands of the minorities for an hour and a half. But he did not say anything about whether to implement these demands or not. After that, it was decided by the organization that the movement would continue to meet demand and the discussion would continue.

Rana Dasgupta said the Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council does not depend on anyone. Minorities do not want to be exploited. I don’t want to be someone’s vote bank. I will cast my vote knowingly.

He also said that in the last 13 years, we will not vote for those who imposed Mujibkot on them and occupied the lands of minorities. We will not vote for those who went abroad and said nothing happened after the events of 2021.

Earlier, the president of the organization, Sylhet metropolitan branch, Advocate Mrityunjoy Dhar Bhola, spoke as the chief guest, along with the president of the organization, Prof. Nimchandra Bhowmik, presidium member Jayant Sen Dipu, organizing secretary Malaya Purkayastha, organizing secretary of Bangladesh Puja Udjabar Parishad Rajat Kanti Bhattacharya, and Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Parishad. Joint Secretary Abhijit Bhattacharya, President of Bangladesh Chhatra Eykya Parishad Sudipta Sarkar Surya, General Secretary Shipon Garchaik, etc.
