Laxmipur Correspondent: The court sentenced eight people to death for the shooting death of Chhatra League leader Mehdi Hasan Jasim in Laxmipur.
Today, Monday, May 29, around 11:30 AM, Additional District and Sessions Judge Court Judge Amina Farhin announced the verdict.
Laxmipur District and Sessions Judge Court Public Counsel (PP) Jasim Uddin confirmed the matter.
He said that the police filed a charge sheet against 12 accused in this case. Four of them died. The court sentenced eight other accused to death. Seven accused were present in court during the verdict. Another convicted accused, Hizbur Rahman Swapan, is absconding.
