The Prime Minister is in Doha on a three-day visit

Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka for Doha on Monday (May 22) afternoon on a three-day official visit to attend the Qatar Economic Forum (QEF) 2023, to be held on May 23–25. Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said that a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying Sheikh Hasina and her entourage left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 3:13 p.m. today. Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Chief Whip Nur-e-Alam Chowdhury, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Md. Mahbub Ali, Cabinet Secretary, Chief of Army, Air, and Acting Naval Forces, Inspector General of Police, and Dean of Diplomatic Corps saw off the Prime Minister at the airport.

The flight is scheduled to land at Hamad International Airport at 6 p.m. local time. During the visit, the Prime Minister will attend a forum titled ‘Third Qatar Economic Forum: New Global Growth Story’ at the invitation of Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. QF is the Middle East’s leading voice dedicated to global business and investment. The main objective of this forum is to find solutions through increased mutual cooperation among the international community to address the multi-faceted challenges and crises that are ongoing globally and the resulting adverse economic impacts.

Sheikh Hasina will attend the inaugural session of the 3rd QF on May 23. In Doha, he will address the students of Qatar University, Qatar’s Minister of State for Energy, Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment, Khalid A. Will have a separate meeting with Al-Falih. The Prime Minister will join the QF on May 24. The Emir of Qatar will meet with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Sani (Amiri Diwan) and visit Awsaz Academy (a specialized school). The Prime Minister is expected to return home on the morning of May 25.
