Suicide of a young woman without getting a chance in medical

Kushtia Correspondent: A student named Hafsa Khatun (19) committed suicide by twisting her veil around her neck in Mirpur, Kushtia, unable to get admission to medical school. Hafsa is the daughter of Idris Mandal of Charmile Tatibandha area of Baruipara Union of Khatun Upazila.

Yesterday, Sunday (May 14), around 7 p.m., this incident happened in the Fourmile Tatibandha area of the upazila.

Seema Khatun, the mother of the deceased, said that Hafsa Kushtia got a Golden 5 in the HSC examination from the science department of the government college. Earlier also, he got a golden 5 in the SSC exam. Since childhood, he has dreamed of becoming a doctor.

He said that this time he also took the medical admission test. Failed and broke down mentally for a few days. He was in mental turmoil since he didn’t get the chance. Because of this, he committed suicide.

In this regard, Baruipara Union Chairman Shafiqul Islam Montu said that Hafsa Khatun and her two girlfriends took the medical admission test. Two girlfriends got a chance, but Hafsa broke down mentally because there was no chance.

Mirpur police station OC Rafiqul Islam said the body was sent to Kushtia General Hospital. Necessary legal action will be taken in this case.
