Kushtia Correspondent: Roksana Khanam (52), a senior teacher of Kushtia District School, was murdered in her flat. Initially, the police believe that the miscreants killed him with sharp weapons.
The demonic murder took place on Sunday (November 6) night. On Monday (November 7) morning, the police recovered the bloody body of the teacher.
According to police and eyewitness sources, miscreants entered teacher Roksana’s flat by cutting the grill on the roof of the 6-storey hanging balcony of the D-Block housing in the city. Later, the miscreants killed the teacher Roksana by hitting her head with a sharp weapon or a hammer. Apart from head injuries, miscreants also bruised his face. After the demonic murder, the miscreants broke the lock of the cupboard used in the teacher’s house and ransacked the cases including clothes.
Furniture and computers were also scattered. The police could not confirm whether gold ornaments or money were lost. Although the exact cause of the murder is not known, the police have confirmed that the terrorist gang has committed the murder in a pre-planned manner. The childless teacher lived alone on the second floor of her 6-storey flat. She was a teacher of English subject in the day branch of traditional Kushtia District School. Her husband Khandaker Mostafizur Rahman Shishir is working as a community organizer in LGED in Chougacha upazila of Jessore district.
After receiving the information, the police recovered the bloodied body on Monday morning and conducted the post-mortem at the Kushtia 250 General Hospital mortuary. Police-RAB and PIB senior officials visited the spot.
The police have not yet arrested anyone in this incident. However, the police said that they are investigating the murder with the utmost importance and trying to arrest those involved. The teacher’s colleagues, relatives and local people rushed to the news.
Meanwhile, fear and panic has spread in the Housing D Block area due to this hellish murder in the protected flat house.
Kushtia Superintendent of Police Khairul Alam said that the police, PBI and intelligence team are investigating with utmost importance. Efforts are being made to identify those involved in the incident and bring them under the law, he said.
