Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Cyclone ‘Mokha’, which is located in the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas, is getting stronger and approaching Cox’s Bazar. For this reason, the district administration has declared all the hotels, motels, and resorts on St. Martin’s Island in Cox’s Bazar as shelters.

He said that since the cyclone is headed towards Cox’s Bazar, Saint Martin’s Island and Cox’s Bazar are at risk. For this reason, the district administration has declared all the hotels, motels, and resorts in St. Martin as shelters. Besides, tourist traders and hundreds of thousands of residents from St. Martin have safely taken refuge in Teknaf.
Teknaf Upazila executive officer Kamruzzaman said 17 shelters have been kept ready on the island. Navy, Coast Guard, BGB, police, public representatives, and volunteers are working simultaneously in these shelters.
