Dhaka Bureau: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam said that 555 more Bangladeshis will return home from Sudan on a special flight on Friday (May 12).
The Minister of State said this in response to a question at a press conference held on May 12–13 in the capital at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday (May 10).
The State Minister for Foreign Affairs said, “We have fixed four flights at our own expense to bring back 555 Bangladeshis from Port Sudan. Of these, three flights will be operated on Wednesday and one on Thursday. First, it will be brought to Jeddah from Port Sudan, Bangladesh. After that, they will return to Dhaka by special flight on May 12.
Earlier, 136 Bangladeshi citizens from Sudan were brought back to Dhaka via Jeddah on Monday. The country has been in conflict for the past few weeks between the two sides. Many people were injured.
