Dhaka Bureau: The Saudi Ambassador to Dhaka, Isa Bin Yusuf Al Duhailan, has informed about the preparation of 100% immigration of Hajj pilgrims to Dhaka. Saudi immigration officials will complete advance Saudi immigration along with departure immigration at Dhaka airport and Haj camp. For this reason, pilgrims can directly enter the Hajj terminal after getting off the plane at the Saudi airport.
The ambassador gave this information to the journalists after the ceremony of handing over 75 tons of dates on behalf of the Saudi King on Tuesday (May 9).
The Saudi ambassador said that preparations have been made for the immigration of pilgrims to Dhaka. To this end, the Saudi delegation is coming to Dhaka on Wednesday (May 10). Duhailan expressed hope that all pilgrims’ visas will be completed before the start of the Hajj flight.
In response to a question about the return of Bangladeshis from Sudan, the ambassador said that Saudi Arabia is helping to bring back 551 Bangladeshis from Port Sudan.
In the ceremony, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques of Makkah and Madinah, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, presented Bangladesh with 75 tons of dates, which were handed over. The ambassador handed over these dates to Shafiqur Rahman, director general of the West Asia Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These dates will be distributed among marginalized people.
The ambassador said that 25 thousand projects of Saudi King Salman are being implemented all over the world. 43 projects are running in Bangladesh. Expect to start seven more projects very soon.
Meanwhile, the president of the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB), M. Shahadat Hossain Taslim, said that Hajj pilgrims no longer have to wait for immigration at the Saudi Hajj terminal for a long time. All the immigration work will be completed by the Saudi officials before they board the plane in Dhaka.
Regarding the advance immigration procedure, the Hub Secretary General said that the Saudi Arabian passport and immigration officials will sit in Dhaka during the departure immigration and complete the Saudi entry immigration process and seal the passports and documents. Hajj pilgrims can get off the plane and go directly to the Hajj terminal. Hajis will be taken to Makkah in Muallem’s car from the terminal. This will reduce the suffering of Hajis a lot.
