A farmer was killed by a train in Kushtia

Kushtia Correspondent: A 75-year-old farmer was killed after being hit by a train in Kushtia. The accident happened on Tuesday (May 9) around 8:30 a.m. in the Kalabaria area near Jagti railway station in Sadar upazila.

The deceased Sobhan Mandal is the son of the deceased Gafur Mandal of Madrasapara in Sadar Upazila and is a farmer by profession.

According to the police and locals, farmer Sobhan Mondal was going to the field to see his paddy field. He was killed on the spot when he was hit by a train while crossing the railway line. After receiving the information, the police of the railway station reached the spot, recovered the body, and completed the report. Later, the body was sent to the Kushtia 250-bed General Hospital Morgue for a post-mortem.

OC Emdadul Haque of Poradah Railway Police Station said that the legal matter in this incident is under process.
