The Prime Minister will arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday

Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave for the country on Monday (May 8) after visiting Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. A special VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines will leave Heathrow International Airport carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage at 6:20 p.m. local London time.

At this time, the High Commissioner of Bangladesh appointed to the United Kingdom, Saida Muna, will bid farewell to the Prime Minister at Tasneem Airport. The plane is scheduled to land at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport tomorrow, Tuesday, May 9, around 9:30 a.m.

Earlier, on Thursday (May 4), the Prime Minister arrived in the UK from Washington on the third leg of his visit to attend the inauguration ceremony of Charles III and his wife Camilla as King and Queen of Commonwealth countries, including the UK.

During her stay in the United Kingdom, Sheikh Hasina attended the coronation ceremony of King Charles III and the Queen at Westminster Abbey in London last Saturday (May 6). British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley and his wife Susanna Sparks also met the Prime Minister at Hotel Claridge’s in London. The Prime Minister stayed at this hotel during his visit to the UK. On the same day, the Prime Minister attended a dinner hosted by the Bangladesh High Commissioner in the United Kingdom in the private dining room of Claridge’s Hotel Foyer in honor of the Prime Minister.

On May 7, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and Commonwealth Secretary General Baroness Patricia Scotland also met the Bangladesh Prime Minister at Claridge’s Hotel. The Prime Minister attended a civic reception organized by Bangladeshi expatriates in the UK at the London Marriott Hotel. He also gave an interview to the BBC on the same day. Earlier, he arrived in Washington, DC, on April 29 after completing his four-day official visit to Tokyo, Japan, at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
