City Reporter: Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Chittagong District Unit, City Unit and Youth Red Crescent, Chittagong jointly organized the World Red Cross Red Crescent Day-2023 today Monday (May 08) through various programs.
The programs included peace rally, blood donation drive, maternity and child food distribution, exhibition of still images of youth activities, drawing competition, discussion meeting on the significance of the day. This year’s theme was Everything we do comes from the heart.
The day-long program began with the hoisting of the national flag and the Red Crescent flag.
After the blood donation program, a discussion on the significance of the day was held under the chairmanship of Chittagong District Red Crescent Unit Chairman and Zilla Parishad Chairman ATM Payrul Islam.
Divisional Commissioner Dr. Md. Aminur Rahman was present as the chief guest.
Chittagong District Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman was present as the inaugural function.
Shabbir Iqbal, chief administrative officer of Zilla Parishad Chittagong, was present as a special guest.
City Red Crescent Vice Chairman Mohammad Alamgir Parvez, District and City Red Crescent Secretary Md Aslam Khan, Abdul Jabbar were present as guests.
District Red Crescent executive board member Fakhrul Islam Chowdhury Parag was also present, District Red Crescent executive board member Sugrib Kumar Majumder, Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury Rumel, Md. Ismail Haque Chowdhury Faisal, Rashed Khan Menon, City Red Crescent executive board member Manjur Morshed Firoz, Mohsin Uddin Chowdhury Faisal, Kazi Moshraful Haque Chowdhury Pavel, Hospital Incharge Md Salim Ahmed, District Unit Level Officer Abdul Mannan, City Unit Level Officer Abdur Rahim Akan and Jubo Red Crescent, Chittagong Youth Chief Istakul Islam Chowdhury Ishan and various school and college unit in charge.
