Dhaka Bureau: The price of bottled soybean oil has increased again. The Edible Oil Producers Association has decided to increase the price by 12 rupees per liter to 199 rupees. It has been implemented since Thursday (04 May) morning.
According to the press release of Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Banaspati Manufacturers Association, since the VAT exemption provided by the government on the import of edible oil ended on April 30, they have set this new price subject to discussion with the Ministry of Commerce and the Bangladesh Tariff Commission.
The prices of open oil and palm oil have also been increased. According to the new price, open soybeans are Tk 176 per litre. Besides, the price of one liter of open palm super oil has been fixed at Tk 135.
Earlier, the price of open soybean oil was Tk 167 per liter and bottled at Tk 187 per liter. Besides, the price of 5 liter bottle was 906 Tk. Now a 5 liter bottle will be sold at 960 taka with an increase of taka 54. The previous price of open palm oil was Tk 117.
