The Crime Desk News: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Tokyo on Tuesday (April 25) afternoon on a 4-day visit at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. At this time he was given a red carpet reception.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ VVIP chartered flight (BG1403) carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage landed at Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport at 4:45 PM local time on Tuesday. Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Kenji Yamada and Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Sahabuddin Ahmed welcomed the Prime Minister at the airport. The Prime Minister was given a guard of honor at the airport.
Earlier, the plane left Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 7:56 am for Tokyo on the first leg of a 15-day official visit to Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom.
He was taken to Akasaka Palace in a ceremonial motorcade from Tokyo’s airport. The Prime Minister will stay at this palace in Tokyo during his visit to Japan. Dhaka hopes to sign eight agreements with Tokyo during the visit.
Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen said in a briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, “eight MoUs can be signed between the two countries in the presence of the two Prime Ministers (Bangladesh and Japan).”
He also said that during his visit to Japan, cooperation agreements on agriculture, metro rail, industrial development, ship recycling, customs matters, intellectual property, defense cooperation, ICT and cyber security will be signed.
