The Crime Desk: Holy Lailatul Qadr is the best blessing given by Allah to the believing Muslim. Although in recent decades there have been guidelines for searching for Lailatul Qadr on odd nights, many Muslims observe the night before the 26th day of Ramadan with dignity in the hope of attaining ‘Lailatul Qadr’. Accordingly, the desired holy day (Lailatul Qadr) will be celebrated on Tuesday, the 26th of Ramadan. The glorious Rajni is most desirable for Muslims after the day’s light fades in the west.
The Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, used to do itikaaf in the last ten days of Ramadan. He asked to seek Lailatul Qadr in this last decade. In the Sahih books of Tafsir, Qadr has another meaning than fate or determination. On this night, the decrees for the next year are handed over to the managing and enforcing angels. In it, the amount of age, death, sustenance, rain, etc. of each person is prescribed to certain angels. Even who will perform Hajj this year is also written. Various sustenances, various decrees—the number of children to be born in a year, the number of people to die in a year—are decided on this night and issued by the angels. According to Ibn Abbas (RA), four angels are entrusted with the task of carrying out these tasks. They are Gabriel, Israfil, Mikail, and Azrael (A.S.) (Qurtubi). Almighty Allah revealed a complete Surah in the Holy Quran about the virtues and dignity of this night. Almighty Allah says, “Surely I have revealed the Holy Qur’an in Lailatul Qadr.” (O Prophet, do you know which Lailatul Qadr? The night of Qadr is better than a thousand months. On this night, the angels and Gabriel (a.s.) descended with every command with the permission of their Lord. It is security that continues (from dusk) till dawn.’ (Surat al-Qadr). The Prophet (PBUH) said the status of this night is better than 1000 months. (Mishkat, page no. 173) The Holy Prophet (pbuh) also said, ‘When the night of Qadr appears, Gabriel (a.s.) comes to earth with a large group of angels.’ (Mishkat, page no. 182). Devout Muslims all over the world seek the holy Lailatul Qadr tonight on the basis of more possibilities after the end of the month-long fast. The special virtues and importance of Ramadan are largely due to this glorious night. On this night of the holy month of Ramadan, the great book Al-Quran was sent down from Laohe Mahfuz to the lower sky.
