Faridpur Correspondent: 4 passengers were killed when the night coach lost control and collided with a tree on the Faridpur-Barisal highway.
The accident took place in the Madhavpur bus stand area in the early hours of Sunday (November 6). Another 10 passengers were seriously injured.
The deceased are Marina Akhtar (32), Junaid (3), Humayun Kabir (48) and A. Rauf Howlader (50). The houses of all the victims are in different areas of Barisal division.
Sub-Inspector of Bhanga Highway Police Station Sohanur Rahman said that the Sakura Paribahan bus leaving Dhaka towards Jhalkathi lost control and collided with a tree. This caused the bus to twist and turn.
He said, after receiving the news, we rescued the victims. The injured were rescued and admitted to Banga Hospital. After the accident, the bus was recovered and taken to the police station. The dead bodies have been handed over to the families.
