Pirojpur Correspondent: The body of a 23-year-old youth was recovered from Kaukhali in Pirojpur, but the family alleges that he was hacked to death. The incident took place in Dakshin Sialkathi village of the upazila on Wednesday (April 12) evening. The deceased Hasib Bayati is the son of Yunus Bayati of the same area.
Locals said that Haseeb’s father, Yunus Bayati, had a family conflict with the neighboring former member Maharaj. On Wednesday evening, Yunus Bayati had an argument with Maharaj Mollah. Later, Haseeb went to Maharaj’s house. When Haseeb did not return home after a long time, his relatives went in search of him. After that, he was seen lying at the base of the bridge near Mohsin’s intersection, near Maharaj’s house. Later, relatives rescued him and took him to the Rajapur Upazila Health Complex in Jhalkathi, where doctors declared him dead.
However, Niru Begum, the mother of the deceased Hasib, said that Maharaj Molla’s people called her son after dinner. He was later hacked to death.
OC of Kaukhali police station. Zakaria said that Haseeb’s father, Yunus Bayati, had a bad relationship with former member Maharaj Mollah. In the evening, he had an argument with Yunus Bayati. Later, the attack happened.
The SI of Rajapur Police Station said that the body is at Rajapur Police Station. The body will be sent to Jhalkathi Morgue for post-mortem on Thursday.
