A drug dealer named Abdu Sukkur (22) has been arrested in this incident. Arrested Sukkur Chakria is the son of deceased Imam Hussain of the Islamnagar village of Koyarbil.
According to RAB sources, on Monday (April 10) at midnight (April 11), an raiding team of RAB 15 CPSC (Cox’s Bazar Camp) conducted an anti-narcotics operation in the Islamnagar area of Koyarbil, Chakria. Meanwhile, they managed to arrest a person named Abdu Sukkur (22). Later, according to his confession, several grave-like places were dug next to the yard of his living room, and 26 kg (500 grams) of ganja were recovered from there.
The captain of RAB-15 CPSC (Cox’s Bazar Camp) led the campaign. Anwar Hossain Shamim said, “After the arrest, Sukkur admitted during the initial interrogation that he has been collecting ganja and selling it in various areas, including Cox’s Bazar, for a long time. A written statement has been submitted to the Chakaria police station in Cox’s Bazar to take the necessary legal action against the arrested person along with the recovered drugs.
Meanwhile, when the news of the recovery of ganja from inside the grave spread in the area, the people of the neighborhood thronged to see the place next to Sukkur’s house throughout the day on Tuesday. There has been a mixed reaction in the area as the final destination of Muslims has been easily turned into a drug godown.
