According to the notification of the Parliament Secretariat, during the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary informed the Speaker about the date and time of the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected President.
Two-time president. Abdul Hamid’s successor, Sahabuddin, will be the 22nd President of Bangladesh.
President Abdul Hamid’s term will end on April 23. The next day, Sahabuddin will take oath as the new president at Bangabhaban.
Preparations are underway for this event. The Cabinet Division will organize the swearing-in ceremony.
Awami League candidate Sahabuddin was elected unopposed in the presidential election on February 12.
Abdul Hamid was sworn in for the second term as president on April 24, 2018. He is the only one in Bangladesh to have served as head of state for two full terms.
According to the law of Bangladesh, a person cannot hold this position for more than two terms.
