Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: BGB has recovered 1 kg, 69 grams of crystal meth ice, and 10 thousand pieces of Yaba in Cox’s Bazar along the Naf River border in Teknaf.
BGB Teknaf 2 battalion commander Lt. Col. Mohiuddin Ahmed said that the operation was conducted at the Damdamia Nature Park point of the Naf River in Hnila Union of Teknaf Upazila on Monday midnight.
However, as the traffickers fled, it was not possible to arrest anyone, he said.
Lt. Colonel Mohiuddin said that on Monday midnight, a BGB team conducted an operation on the news of smuggling a large shipment of drugs from Myanmar through Damdamia Nature Park at the point of the Naf River in Hnila Union in Teknaf. At one point, BGB members ordered them to stop after seeing two men in a manual boat crossing the zero line. The people jumped from the boat and fled into the interior of Myanmar.
Later, after searching the boat left by the traffickers, 1 kg, 69 grams of crystal meth, 10 thousand yaba, and 20 kg of prohibited current were seized.
The recovered drugs have been kept in the battalion office of BGB, said Lt. Colonel Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed.
