Own Correspondent: Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, a presidium member of Awami League, said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will make this announcement from a public meeting in Chittagong on December 4. Deputy Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury also said that the Railway Minister has assured that no hospital will be built in CRB by hurting the hearts of Chittagong residents. Musharraf and Naufel said these things in a rally organized by civil society, Chittagong at CRB premises on Saturday afternoon. It was presided over by the convenor of the organization, distinguished academician-sociologist Professor Dr. Anupam Sen.
Although there was no official announcement, the civil society of Chittagong announced the end of the 480-day uninterrupted movement through the last two days of the program after receiving the news of the private hospital project being removed from the naturally beautiful CRB. However, Mosharraf Hossain requested the leaders of the organization formed with the call to protect CRB to carry out the program until the public meeting of the Prime Minister. He said, our Prime Minister is the leader of the people. When we ministers and MPs agreed on the demand of people of Chittagong not to build hospital in CRB, I believe he (Prime Minister) will also agree. Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan has promised us. We have said that not only Chittagong or Bangladesh, but all over the world there are people in Chittagong who do not want hospital in CRB.
He said that the Prime Minister’s public meeting will be announced on December 4. We will all gather at the polo ground. The polo ground is overflowing with people. There the Prime Minister will announce that there will be no hospital in CRB.
Requesting to continue the program, former minister Mosharraf Hossain said that a national park will be built here in the name of Bangamata. I will never allow a hospital to be built here as long as I live. You will continue the movement. Put up a big banner here so that the Prime Minister sees it when he passes this way on December 4. We will try to hear from the Prime Minister that there will be no hospital in CRB.
In the rally, Member of Parliament of Chittagong-9 Constituency Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel said, I express my gratitude to the agitators and the citizens of Chittagong. Sheikh Hasina’s government is the people’s government. Got an assurance from the government that the hospital will not be built here. Addressing the agitators, he said, the movement has won. Holding on to this victory, a message should be sent to the people that Sheikh Hasina runs the government respecting the sentiments of all people.
