Bogra Correspondent: Rabeya Khatun, Headmistress of Bogra Government Girls High School, has been transferred in the case of a student’s mother being forced to apologize by holding the leg of a female judge. He is said to have been made an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education in Dhaka.

His transfer was informed in a notification signed by Nehal Ahmed, Director General of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MAUSI). Bogra Government Girls High School President and Bogra District Commissioner Saiful Islam confirmed this information.

Head teacher Rabeya Khatun was contacted to talk about this, but she did not receive it. Earlier in the same incident, an additional district and sessions judge of Bogra Begum Rubiya Yasmin was deprived of judicial powers.

He was transferred as an attached officer to the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs on March 23.

It is known that students of each class at Bogra Government Girls High School take turns sweeping their classrooms. On March 20, five students from class VIII were supposed to take the statewide examination. But among them, Judge Begum Rubaiya Yasmin’s daughter refused to sweep. The judge’s daughter had an argument with her classmates about this. Later that night, the judge’s daughter wrote and posted something offensive about sweeping on a school Facebook group. After that, others, including her classmates, began to attack Zara severely and write back under that post.

Later, the woman judge went to the school on the morning of March 21 and summoned some students and their parents to the principal’s room through the teachers for writing disrespectful words against her and her daughter on the Facebook group. The students complained that the parents were threatened with a case under the ICT Act for writing disrespectful words about the judge and his daughter in the Facebook group. Pointing out that the disrespectful writings in the Facebook group about the judge and her daughter were inappropriate, the headmistress of the school, Rabeya Khatun, forced the parent of a student to hold the judge’s feet and apologize.
