Nusrat Rafi’s fourth death anniversary is today

Feni Correspondent: Today is the fourth death anniversary of Madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi of Sonagazi, Feni. Prayers and Milad mahfil have been organized by the family. Like every time, PBI will pay tribute to Nusrat’s grave at North Chandia. Apart from this, PBI Feni inspector Shah Alam said that he will break fast with Nusrat’s family on Monday (April 10).

He died on April 9, 2019 at 9:30 p.m. while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. However, on behalf of the family and PBI, April 10 is the death anniversary. Earlier, on the morning of April 6, when Alim went to give his first Arabic exam at Sonagazi Islamia Fazil Madrasa Center, he was called from the hall and taken to the roof of the third floor of the adjacent building, and because he did not agree to withdraw the case filed against the principal of the madrasa, Siraj Ud-Daula, he was poured kerosene oil on him and set on fire. 85 percent of his body was burned. He died on April 9 at 9:30 p.m. in the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. In the afternoon of April 10, in the presence of millions of people, Sonagazi of the district He was buried in the social cemetery after the Janaza at the Government Pilot High School grounds in Chhab.

In the case of killing Nusrat Jahan Rafi on fire in a barbaric manner, on October 24, 2019, Madrasa Principal Siraj Ud-Daula and 16 other accused were sentenced to death by the judge of the Feni Women and Child Torture Prevention Tribunal. Mamunur Rashid.

Since the announcement of the verdict, the families and relatives of the convicts have been active in the streets. On the occasion of the last death anniversary, the families and relatives of the convicts will hold a human chain and protest march today.

Three policemen are guarding the house for the safety of Nusrat’s family members. Nusrat’s mother, Shirina Akhter, said, We got justice in the judicial court. I heard that the convicts who were sentenced to death have appealed to the high court. We are demanding the speedy implementation of the death sentence for the accused from the President and the Prime Minister. On the orders of the Prime Minister, police have been deployed at home for our security. The prime minister has also done a lot for us. He hugged me and comforted me, which I will never forget.
